In India, the season autumn comes with a smell of freshness and a kind of spiritual purity sprayed in nature. It's also a time of worship and the mega-festival known as "Dussehra" and "Durga Puja". In this painting, I attempted to show the same feelings. A village girl engages in making a flower chain for the upcoming worship. The blue and white indicate the purity of nature, white lotuses are ready to welcome our loved "mother" Durga. Indeed in each corner of nature, we see the combination of blue and white performs in the cloud, lotus, grass-flowers that spray miles after miles and the deep blue sky. It seems all are waiting to welcome their most loved "Mother" and make their earnest reverence.
It's a painting based on a very Pleasant moment of urban life when a village housewife making the prayer at the time of the evening in front of a basil tree. In each of the outer part of a hut/house, villagers like to form a basil tree since it is their traditional belief that the basil tree will bless them to keep their life pleasant out of every fear. Therefore, in the time of the evening, housewives make their earnest reverence to that basil (Tulsi) with the light of diya.
The painting inspired by a romantic fairy tail of the tribal community of West Bengal.
Title - Urban Housewife
Have you ever seen a bashful urban housewife in a peaceful magnanimous nature slowly walking towards a pond to bring water? Have you ever seen the shy in her awry vision? If not, take a moment to see her in a twilight of an evening while nature immerses to complete its poem.
Painting based on the scene of the rural area where village housewives naturally like to bath for the second time, in evening. That simple scene becomes poetic with their murmuring noise and a little shy for the common viewers. This painting represents the simple lifespan of the village housewives.
Once a time, the mother of Lord Buddha experienced a dream before the birth of her son. She saw a dream. A white elephant appeared on the sky from the full moon and slowly entered to her uterus. She felt a heavenly joy and wake up from sleep. After a few month, Lord Buddha took his birth to this world to serve the peace and love. My painting based on that supernatural story of Lord Buddha.
This painting represents a sorrowful experience I got in a festive moment in Bengal. A poor street hawker was selling some balloons and toys to children on a busy footpath. Suddenly, a police
appeared on that spot and beat him; because he was on a busy road. That hawker went away from that spot slowly. It was his fault that he just wanted to make some rupees in that festive time by
standing on a roadside. Was it really a fault?
In this painting, I just wanted to show the emotion of love and passion existing in each human soul.
This painting based on the natural scene of the rural area where cowherds returns from the pasture in the time of sunset. That scene becomes poetic in the evening twilight with their slow motion and a beautiful sound of the flute which pulls my mind to a new imaginary world. I depicted several paintings based on this subject to express my feelings properly. This painting awarded by IVAC of New York.
