How to Know the Form, A powerful Explanation.

The first aphorism - Rup Vedha

The primary thought of it was how to learn the technique of observation including an insignificant part of the natural objects and discover the inner form of a specific object. We know that each life or non-life form of the natural objects executed by maintaining a systematic relation with each other. The form originated by the differential factor of each element of the physical world that established in the systematic harmonious fluctuation. Therefore, in accordance to the author, the form is endless, eternal and it established by maintaining a systematic harmonious arrangement or relation to each other within our physical world. It was the concept that form itself has an extended power that would not depend on the outward shape of an object. For that, an artist needs to observe an object not only with the five organs of sense but also by using the sixth sense.  The opinion of the author was, actually, here is nothing any magical method that you can follow to extract the hidden form of an object. You have to feel it, and it is only the system to discover a new form. Here is nothing any specific universal guideline that would be able to help you with your observation.

Now you can ask, what did the author mean by "FEEL"?

Here is an example of the speech of a great Indian artist and poet named Rabindranath Tagore who stated that he normally avoid to observe any object for a long time, rather he love to take a glance that assists him to reform the object with his meditative intuition. It's a fantastic example of an artistic observation by using the sixth sense! It will aid you to recognize the inner form with your estimation and feelings regarding the object that you just have watched.

When you dive into the ocean of form, you will be unable to define which one is a form or not. Therefore, the author did not say anywhere;- it is a form and this one is not, accept it and reject rest of those. Here is nothing any controversy of Good versus Bad. All just depend on your feelings that have come from your style of observation.

This is quite possible that a specific form or style you are following and making it own, and others you reject as a useless matter, however, you have to think it that everything is perfect in its own way and concept, as I stated above that the form is endless and eternal. It is too possible that the same form you appreciated, which did other artists reject because, it depends on the personality, experiences, even the born and brought up of an artist. Controversies concerning the good versus Bad set out from the people that depend on the differential ability of their observation and adaption.

Here is necessary to explain the actual meaning of  “RUP VEDHA”. The meaning of “RUP” is formed, and VEDHA – meaning discover. On the other hand, he wanted to explain how it would be possible to reveal the hidden form of a specific object and how you understand/realize the differential factors between two objects.

Based on the concept of the author, the form is only one and eternal. The discovery of a new one would depend on the structure of the mind, transparency of vision of the viewer, who is watching the object. Artists have always tried to explain their feelings in canvas with the best of their ability. Here is a difference between photography and painting. The camera always catches the actually visible form of the object represented as the external form and realistic, whereas, an artist always tries to represent the hidden (internal) form of an object that could be the far different from the actual form. It is the main learnable matter. The author said that artist should have to try to reveal the internal form by just using the line drawing at first; because only the line can convey all the emotional effects and it has the supreme power to express everything! We easily should be able to find the truth of his words if we see the cave paintings of Ajanta, miniature paintings of the historical Mughal era of India etc. Author has given the highest label of precedence to the line drawing because he stated; the line is not only a primary factor to describe an object rather it helps to recognize the reformation that you created by following the object and make it live. He also described that line is visible everywhere of our surrounded nature consequently with the form.

Here I would like to say that you are reading a grammatical concept of BC 200 century when the spiritualism governed the human lifespan. Therefore, the author mainly inspired by the spiritual trend of thought. According to his concept, all artists normally surpass a long way of rejection and acceptation during the period of learning, until he finds out the highest point of his satisfaction.  He will find his own form and style when his all confusions would destroy, and he would realize that form and its hidden beauty is just a unique expression of the Almighty Creator. Author conceived that none of a little part of this world of form that deserved for the underestimation. It would be the highest point of an artist’s realization when he will feel about himself as a very little contributor of the tremendous creation of God, and form is the eternal matter, just like that greatest Creator. Every artistic ego will be destroying accordingly with his realization.

Although the above speech of the greatest author named Vatsyayan, bearing the smell of spiritual trend of the BC 200 century, but not a single word of the author is wrong or insignificant if we tend to think about it in deeply.

At last, we would try to find out the gist of the above discussion: -

1. The meaning of Rup vedha. – Discover the new form based on our artistic observation throughout the physical world.

2.  How to discover – By the feelings of our sixth sense that will help you to reform the natural object with your meditative intuition.

3. What is form - The form is an outward shape of an object that originated by the differential factor of each element of the physical world and established by the systematic harmonious fluctuation.

In the next episode, I’ll be continuing regarding the second aphorism named – Pramanam.
